Matt Kang

Matt planted Trinity Church in early 2025. He was born and raised in Sydney, and is thankful that he gets to call this beautiful city home.

He is amazed that the God of the Bible is a God of second chances – willing to forgive anyone and give them a clean slate and a new life.

Whilst living a depraved life as a young man, in 2008 Matt learned of, and received, God’s forgiveness in Jesus, and he has never been the same since. He is still in awe and wonder, that God might forgive a filthy sinner like him, and give him a new identity, real purpose, and lasting joy. His deep gratitude to God led him to quit his job at the casino, and go into full-time Christian ministry.

He is very happily married to Jane, and they enjoy discovering new cultures and foods.

They have two daughters: Karis (3) and Chloe (1). Matt and Jane are thrilled to show them God’s world, his word, and his people.

Matt trained for ministry at Sydney Missionary & Bible College and Christ College, and serves on the boards of TGCAA (The Gospel Coalition Australia Asia) and KARPA (Korean Australian Reformed Pastors Alliance).

His passion is to see churches grow healthier and more effective in disciple-making and cross-cultural evangelism.

In his spare time, he likes to play golf, hike mountains, and hang out with his girls.

Colin Chu

With a mixed background of Buddhism, Atheism and Catholicism, Colin had sought greater purpose in life since his teens. He could see that his background beliefs could only lead to skepticism, despair, guilt or bondage. Troubled by how anyone could ever be good enough, and upon reading the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, Colin found great freedom in what God had done for all of humanity in the cross of Jesus. The grace of God made sense of life and death - a purpose that is invaluable in his daily work as a GP.

Colin achieved "Mission Impossible" in marrying his wife, Susan. They are greatly blessed with 3 young adult children who also have personally accepted God's grace in Jesus.

Matthew Zhang

Matthew is married to Sylvia and together they have one daughter, Madeline.

He helped plant Trinity Church in 2025 because he supported the vision of seeing the Gospel faithfully preached and making disciples of Jesus here in Sydney.

Matthew works in public service, and his hobbies include thrift shopping, basketball and going to cafes.

Tina Li

Tina was raised in a non-Christian home and first went to church through a friend’s invitation. During her early university years, God graciously opened her eyes to humanity’s sin and her need for a Saviour.

She works in risk management and governance and outside of spreadsheets and planning, she’s always ready for her next adventure — whether that’s exploring new destinations, discovering great food, or enjoying live music.

Bryce Lee

Bryce was born and raised in Philadelphia, USA until he moved to Sydney with his family in 2020. He is currently finishing up his studies in commerce at the University of Sydney.

Bryce helped plant Trinity Church in 2025 so that all peoples across Sydney might come to follow Jesus.

Bryce leads the Music Team at Trinity Church and can be found playing basketball, watching NFL, or socialising with friends in his free time.

Zenith Hui

Zenith joined TECS in 2026 as a Ministry Intern, while completing his Masters of Divinity at Sydney Missionary and Bible College. Zenith is married to Sarah, and since 2022, the two of them have been trying out everything under the sun. They love watching psychological thrillers together, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. Currently, Zenith is also going through a phase of enjoying fishing, coffee and training for Hyrox.

Zenith came to know the grace and love of the risen Lord Jesus Christ, through trying to disprove the existence of God in order to stop going to church. In the process of doing so, Zenith replaced the satisfaction of being known and loved by God with worldly pursuits. But in God's kindness, the more Zenith tried to disprove the existence of God, the more He showed Zenith the assurance found in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, and just how desperately a sinner like himself needs the hope found at the cross. Convicted by this truth, Zenith is training to be equipped to share the good news of Jesus at TECS, in Burwood, and beyond.

Zenith is passionate about helping youth and young adults to come to know the truth of Jesus, and doing that in partnership with different Sydney Churches.
